UrthBox Review (Mini Vegan Snack Box)

UrthBox Review (Mini Vegan Snack Box)

A few weeks ago I decided to try out a vegan snack box subscription, and it just got delivered! I chose to get urthbox, and started with the free one month trial for the mini vegan snack box. In this post I’m going to give an urthbox review, and go over what I thought about the goodies inside!

Urthbox Review

Overall, I think Urthbox is a wonderful idea! Basically, you sign up for a box and then the company selects various trendy products to put in your box each month. The boxes that you can choose include gluten free, diet, classic, or vegan, and come in mini, small, medium, or large sizes. I chose to get the mini vegan snack box!

The only bad things I have to say in my review about Urthbox is that it is a it pricey. The mini snack box is $19.99 alone, plus you will have to pay for shipping and handling on top of that….. yikes. I used the free trial, so all I had to pay for was shipping. I will say that there are numerous discounts however! They provide many coupons, and if you share their company on your social media you can get up to $12 in credits towards another box :).

In addition to this, I got the mini snack box (which only has about 6 snack included) because I try to keep the amount of snacks and “vegan junk food” that I eat to a minimum! I really try to stick to a whole foods plant based diet because that is when I feel best. So I didn’t want to overindulge myself!

Product Reviews

In my box I got a total of 6 snacks. They were all vegan, and some were things I had never heard of before! The snacks I received were Beanitos Chips, Whole Cuts Chips, Tree Hugger Bubblegum, XyliChew Chewing Gum, Purely Inspired Organic Protein, and Sky Water.

Beanitos Chips

The Beanitos chips I got in my Urthbox were the original black bean flavor. These chips tasted just like blue corn tortilla chips in my opinion, but packed in a lot more nutrition! One bag of chips had only 140 calories, 5 grams of complete protein (all 20 amino acids!!!!), and a satisfying 15 grams of carbohydrate. In addition, these chips have no MSG, no gluten, no sugar, no artificial colors, preservatives, or flavors, no trans fat, no cholesterol, and no GMO’s!

These chips are made with beans, which is awesome because beans are rich in a variety of vitamins and minerals such as copper, folate, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc!

All of their chip flavors are vegetarian friendly. The vegan flavors they have are original black bean (what I got), simply pinto, restaurant style, hint of lime, garden fresh salsa, and baked skinny dippers.

These chips would go great with some salsa, guacamole, or hummus, and are also great on their own! These chips can be found at grocery stores nationwide, and you can also buy Beanitos chips here if you are interested!

Whole Cuts Chips

The second snack in my Urthbox was Whole Cuts Chips. The flavor I received was sea salt and vinegar :). I really enjoyed these because they were shaped like a fry, but were actually crunchy like a chip, a chip-fry! They didn’t make as much of a mess as regular chips would because the shape made them easy to pull out of the bag and less crumbs fell!

These chips are GMO and Gluten free, and the best part is they only contain 3 ingredients: Russet potatoes, oil, and salt!!!! They had a very airy and light texture to them as well making them great for snacking on because they didn’t slow or weigh me down!

These chips can be found at some grocery stores, and you can also buy Whole Cuts Chips here!

Tree Hugger All Natural Bubblegum

I got two types of gum in my Urthbox, and one of them was treehugger bubblegum! This was a little gumb

all type of gum and was super fruity and packed with a punch of flavor!

I especially liked this gum for a few reasons. First, it had a great flavor! More importantly was the ingredients. This gum only uses all natural ingredients. It has no GMO’s, no artificial flavors or colors, it is gluten free, nut free, and vegan! This gum is a perfect natural alternative to fruity gums, especially if you have young kids or babysit!

If you are interested, you can purchase Tree Hugger All Natural Bubblegum here!

XyliChew Chewing Gum

The next snack for my Urthbox review is XyliChew Chewing Gum! The flavor I got was spearmint, and it was very refreshing! This is one of the only gums that uses no preservatives in their base. For their gum they use the compound xylitol, hence the name “XyliChew”.

Xylitol is produced from fruits and veggies, making it a natural sweetener. In addition, xylitol is naturally produced within the body as a byproduct of metabolism! Furthermore, xylitol has been shown to prevent tooth decay and plaque buildup :). This gum is also GMO free and gluten free! If you are interested you can make your breath fresh by buying XyliChew gum here!

Purely Inspired Organic Protein

Next up in my mini vegan snack box Urthbox review is Purely Inspired Organic Protein. This protein is 100% plant based, made from a blend of pea, brown rice, chia seed, and hemp seed protein. In addition it is gluten free, certified organic, non-GMO, and of course vegan :).

I was given the french vanilla flavor, and I must say I really enjoyed it! I usually put protein powders into a banana smoothie after morning workouts, and this one tasted great when blended up with some bananas and dates! It gave it a vanilla flavor that wasn’t overwhelming, and it didn’t have a chalky taste like some other protein powders do!

If you want to give this protein powder a try, you can purchase it here!

Sky Water

The last product I have for my Urthbox Review is Sky Water. Sky Water is an all natural, herbal and vitamin infused drink to help cope with the stresses you may have while traveling, or just in daily life. All of the products support immunity, calm nerves, and help to hydrate the body! The bottle is 2.5 ounces, but is packed with great ingredients. Since it is small, it is perfect for taking on a plane with you to calm down your nerves or help you sleep if you need to overcome jet lag or any travelling ailments.

They offer three products: Revive, Relax, and Rest. I received the “Rest” Sky Water, and I tried it out by drinking it before I went to bed. It actually helped, and I got a really deep and good nights sleep that night! The ingredients included melatonin, electrolytes, lemon balm, chamomile, zinc, and vitamin C. The ingredients help calm you and promote sleep, and I can vouch for that!

Here is a link to their site where you can purchase Sky Water if you are interested!

I hope you enjoyed my UrthBox review, and I highly recommend subscribing to get your own monthly delivery of some awesome vegan snacks!!! 🙂
